Write a resume Indian ATS tools can parse

  • Use a single column and standard headings: Summary, Experience, Skills, Education.
  • Put the job title and tools from the posting into your skills and bullets (SQL, AutoCAD, GST, Tally, Jira — whatever the role lists).
  • Keep dates as Month Year — Month Year. Avoid tables and text boxes.
  • Save a PDF for email and a Word/TXT copy for portals that parse uploads.

Campus, fresher, and professional resumes

Students & freshers: lead with skills, projects, internships, and coursework. One page is enough.

Professionals: 3–5 impact bullets per role, metrics where you have them, and a skills list that matches the JD.

Executive resumes: tighter summary, board or P&L language, still ATS-safe. Start with our professional resume layouts.

Job resume help — without a counselling session

We do not offer career counselling retainers. We do give in-builder feedback (missing bullets, thin skills lists, ATS layout warnings) and optional AI rewrites you tap to apply. For a human review of your story, a mentor or campus TPO still helps — then format it here.

Questions about this resume guide

Resume tips for job seekers in India

How long should a resume be in India?

One page for students, internships, and most early-career roles. Two pages only if you have substantial, relevant experience. Our live preview paginates to A4 so you can see overflow before you download.

Should I include a photo?

Most Indian IT and corporate ATS jobs do not need a photo. Use Creative Portrait only when the role or region expects one. Photo templates can confuse some parsers.
