Resume vs CV in India — what to upload on Naukri and campus

In India, most recruiters use resume and CV for the same one- or two-page file. Academic CVs are the exception. Pick the short ATS version for job portals.

Job portals want a short file

Naukri, LinkedIn Easy Apply, Internshala, and company ATS tools expect a short, single-column document. Call it a resume or a CV — the parser does not care. Use standard headings and Month Year dates. That is the file you make in our ATS resume builder or CV maker.

A long academic CV (publications, conferences) is for faculty, research, and some PhD applications. Do not upload that 6-page file to a BPO or SDE posting.

How to choose in the builder

Students and freshers: one-page resume. Experienced hires: one or two pages. Researchers: keep a job resume plus a separate academic CV. Preview on A4. Pay from ₹99 when you need PDF or Word. See resume format for heading order.
