What to put on a software engineer resume

Write a short summary of the role you want (backend, frontend, SDE-1, data, QA). Then list languages, frameworks, cloud, and databases as plain text — not a skills bar graphic. For each job or internship, use 3–5 bullets: action, system, and a result if you have one (latency, tickets, users, test coverage).

IT services vs product-company CVs

Services firms scan for tech keywords that match the JD (Java, React, AWS, Selenium). Product firms still want those words, plus ownership: what you shipped, who used it, what broke and what you fixed. Do not paste a confidential client name if your NDA forbids it — describe the domain instead.
